    Abstract

Social media and video platforms like YouTube and Instagram are popular spaces for contemporary fandom, with multimedia franchises providing ample material for discussion, spoilers, livestreams, reviews, walkthroughs, and the production of other fan made content. Travel vlogs, videos that emphasize adventure and tourist activities while showcasing the vlogger's brand and the essence of a destination, serve as liminal spaces for fan tourism. They depict travelling fans immersing themselves in the physical experience of being on site while also helping fans watching online to imagine their own presence in that space, even plan for a potential future visit of their own. This chapter discusses travel vlogs, their construction of fan geographies, and analyses the fan as digital tourist guide.
