    Abstract

    This paper presents a task-based approach to teaching specialised translation on an MA Translation Studies course...It features classroom procedures for approaching a given type of text. In the first instance the use of pretranslation exercises, often disregarded in conventional specialised courses, will be advocated. A methodology based on the functional approach and skopos model...will be considered in regard to the translation of instruction manuals from Spanish into English and viceversa.
