Field notes from my little Aurora: close encounters of the robotic kind. Enacting human-robot coexistence in everyday life performing spaces

This short paper presents some highlights from the practice-based dimensions of the ongoing project, "Living (Together) with Them." An overview of this project was presented at the Italian Pavilion, Resilient Communities, during the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2021. This component specifically focuses on the iterations that emerge when humans and nonhuman agencies coexist within a domestic environment across various time periods. It speculates on the future of our domestic environments, envisioning them populated with robotic agents. The main line of inquiry highlights qualitative aspects derived from methods like field notes and ethnographic drawings. The paper adopts a reflexive practice and is written in the first person. It explores the interactions between humans and robots within this framework, focusing on a set of mindful qualitative observations, including the need to rethink space when it is inhabited by unexpected bodily agencies, such as a small robot.
