Does sports psychology work? An overview of the best available evidence

    Abstract

    With the increasing use of sport psychology interventions among athletes, there is a need to review the existing evidence supporting their use. Data from 35 high-quality studies involving athletes from different sports were analyzed and the results showed that the interventions had a moderate effect on performance and that this positive effect could last up to a month after the end of the intervention.
