Abstract
Digital musicology offers new ways of understanding and appreciating musical scores and recordings by combining traditional musicology with cutting-edge computational methods. Our work incorporates computational analysis, AI tools, and large dataset processing to explore musical compositions and performances at scale which facilitates the analysis of a wide range of material offering fresh perspectives and which sheds new light on compositional and performance creative practice.
Reflecting on these interactions, our research points to the wider potential of digital humanities to inform discourse around and support creative practice in the creative and cultural industries.
