    Project Details

    Description

This study was led by Professor Jackie Bridges and produced a training and development programme validated over time in different care environments. This project aimed to develop an intervention that encouraged staff to feel valued and cared for, as being a valued member of a team encourages nursing staff to provide more compassionate care.

The programme was then piloted and validated in a variety of care settings.

    Key findings

Staff were eager to participate in the project and successfully implemented the programme. This had a positive impact on staff well-being and patient care. External factors such as task-focused organisational culture mitigated the opportunities for staff to implement the programme.
