Summary

I am a Principal Lecturer in Economics and Finance in the Faculty of Business and Law.

I am the Programme Area Lead -  UG Courses Economics and Finance -  in the School of Accounting, Economics and Finance. My main teaching activity is in the areas of finance and banking, and in the economics of altruism, conflict and sport.

Biography

I have had a long career in the Italian Navy (as a pilot and as a ship Captain) before moving into managerial positions within the Aviation and Marine Industry, the Technology sector and then into Academia and Charitable Organisations.

I hold a MSc in Finance, MSc and BSc in Maritime Sciences, and an MSc and BSc in Physics. I graduated from the University of Pisa, the University of Leicester, the Italian Naval Academy, the Brasilian Naval War College, the Italian Armed Forces War College and the Italian Society of International Organisation.

Research Interests

My interests span over six different streams, around the topics of:

  • productivity
  • central banking
  • war, defence and security
  • charitable organisations
  • aerospace and maritime industries
  • health and transport

Biography

I have taught several undergraduate modules in the BSc programmes in Economics: Mathematics, Intermediate Macroeocnomics, International Banking, Financial Instruments, Central Banking and Monetary Policy, Economics and Finance of Sport. I currently teach:

  • Psychology and Altruism in Economics and Finance
  • Crime, Conflict and Terrorism
