Description of Activity

Contributing toward the series of statutory environmental reports required under Environmental Impact Assessment stages of the South West Water North Devon Pipelines Strategic Resource Option, an Environmental Risk Assessment (ERA), including a monitoring plan and mitigation measures, was authored to support the Gatherley Abstraction Licence application (Client: Stantec and South West Water). The ERA provides details of baseline conditions, and assesses impacts of potential changes, focusing on the hydrological and ecological regime due to implementation of the abstraction licence during the operational phase of the Roadford Pumped Storage scheme. The ERA also assessed the potential effects of the abstraction on the recreational, archaeological and landscape value within the zone of influence of the proposed abstraction licence.
