Research Matter(s): Conversations about research in Arts, Design and Media

Activity: Participating in or organising an event typesParticipation in workshop, seminar, course

    Description of Activity

A workshop that invited participants to join in a conversation to explore how materials help us access the imagination and memory. The workshop facilitated drawing/writing/and playful engagement with chalk and charcoal on paper to explore how the handling of materials helps us access the imagination, the poetic image and discuss how practice combines verbal and non-verbal thinking. As practice-based researchers, we experience the challenge of how to create links between studio practice and the theories that inform our work, this is an ongoing conversation as part of PIRG a group of research based artists based at Winchester School of Art, Southampton University.
